Evergreen has a thriving singles squash community. There are various options to learn singles, play with friends, play in organized groups, and play at higher levels.

The below chart gives you an indication of the opportunities available, followed by the contact information for the different opportunities.

Highest level of play and commitment Intermediate to advanced players Vancouver Squash League (VSL) is a city-wide league with matches at participating clubs from October through March.

Women's Divisions play Tuesday nights, Men's Divs 1-6 play Monday nights, Men's Div 7 plays Tuesday nights.

For players with a strong knowledge of the game basics and rules.
Tournaments/ Special Events Intermediate to advanced players Singles squash tournaments are hosted by Evergreen Squash Club throughout the year.  Open tournaments, Club Championships, Fun one day events, handicap tournaments, etc.

For players with a strong knowledge of the game basics and rules.
Various levels of play and commitment Beginner to advanced players In-house singles box ladder is run throughout the year.

For players with a basic knowledge of the game and rules.

Each month the participants are placed in a box with 4 or 5 other players and are expected to complete matches against these opponents within that month.

Participants move up or down the box ladder according to results.
Casual Singles Drop-in High Beginner to advanced players Adult drop-in sessions are invariably happening on Thursday evenings starting at 7:30pm (check first).

For players with knowledge of the game and rules.
Skill Development/Practice Beginner to intermediate players

Skillz & Drillz practice is a drop-in invariably available on Sunday mornings 10:30am-12:00pm (check first).

For players with a basic knowledge of the game and rules.

Participants receive some guidence on basics of stroke, shots, foot work, rules and are given drills to practice.

 

In-House Organized Leagues Beginner to advanced players In-House Singles Leagues (Houseleagues) are run at various times during the year.

For players with knowledge of the game and rules.

Organizers pit participants against players of similar levels.

These leagues can be a fun way of getting to know others at similar levels of play, in addition to be social and including wind-up events.
Games with friends Beginner to advanced players Games with friends is naturally one of the delights of squash.

Courts can be booked 3 days in advance starting at 10 am.
Learning to play or skill development Absolute beginner to advanced players

Professional Coaching is available at Evergreen and is arranged individually.  

New players are strongly encouraged to learn the basics from a Professional.

Intermediate and advanced players can develop important skills by taking advantage of Evergreen's Professional Coach.

Group Clinics are also offered, based on skill level.  Ask the pros for details.
