2010 Evergreen International Tournament
This year's event is brought to you by Die Englische Rosen,
last year's much celebrated squash winners.
The poster shown below pretty much says it all. However, for those
that need it, some additional information is available below the
poster.
More than you need to know.
More details will follow but this covers the main points — particularly the Registration requirements.
Dates: March 19-20 (Friday evening/Saturday)
Teams: 4 (preferred) or 5 players representing a specific country —
real or imaginary! Team attire, potluck food etc. should all reflect nationality.
Note: New teams/players welcome. If you don’t have a team, register with
Darren Farnworth or Blair MacLean and we’ll fit you in.
Rules: Final details to follow, however the basic rule is that each player must
alternate between singles and doubles — no exceptions.
Handicapping will also apply to doubles this year
Registration: E-mail team entries to info@evergreensquash.com listing players,
and their singles calibre per the Evergreen Roster. Please make a note if, in
the spirit of fair competition, you wish to voluntarily upgrade a player’s
cablibre from the roster — otherwise it may be done for you!
Note: please indicate singles/doubles calibre as follows: A/B or C/B etc.
— OK, OK — we know you will have to guess at the doubles calibre but it’s a start!
Deadline: Registration deadline is 6:00 pm on March 16th.
Entry Fee: $20 per player
Official Language: Deutsch (that’s German for the rest of you, you may
want to spend some time with a Stammtisch before the tournament)
International Dinner: Saturday night’s potluck is the highlight
of the year — and the most important part of the tournament. Full
details will be given to team captains but every team should make the
effort to participate — and bring unique dishes.
Joke Fest: each team to bring at least two jokes to share during the traditional post-prandial laugh in. Prize awarded.
Table Decorations: go for it — prize awarded
New this Year
- Table Tennis Competition — rules TBA
- Flag Competition — design your country’s flag and bring at least one colour print-out on Friday night. Prize awarded
