Format

  • Entries close on Sunday, 2008.12.14 18:00 — on the Evergreen website. At this time, players will be ranked by a neutral party, and assigned handicap scores.
  • All players are expected, in the spirit of the season, to wear an item of clothing with red in it, and another with green. Dyeing your hair, wigs, rubber noses, bushy eyebrows, etc. are all considered acceptable.
  • Starting at 6pm sharp on Monday, 2008.12.15, the bidding process begins. All players are required to attend. Starting at $5, each player is up for auction. In the history of all calcuttas, no player has ever gone unbought. The handicapping system will even out games and anyone is a threat to win!
  • From there, the knockout tournament begins. Matches are best-of-3, scored to 15 — Point a Rally (aka American scoring).
  • Prize breakdown:
    • 50% of the pot to be split by the Singles winner, and purchaser;
    • 25% of the pot to be split by the 2nd place finisher, and purchaser; and
    • 25% to charity (see above).

Consolation (doubles) round yet to be confirmed.
