2010 Membership Renewals

As you know, we operate on a September through August year for annual dues, and it's now time to renew your membership for the period September 1, 2010 through August 31, 2011.

Completed renewal forms and payment instructions should be received by August 31, 2010. Please drop all forms and payment instructions in the “Membership Mail” Slot in the wall of the stairs, or mail to Evergreen Squash Club, 1802 Glenaire Drive, North Vancouver, BC, V7P 1Y1.

There are several issues that we would like to bring to your attention:

1. Dues

   The club continues to do well financially, and the Board of Directors does not see the need to increase the dues. However, we have had to adjust our rates to reflect the HST, and we continue to charge more for monthly payments by credit card, as this payment method not only costs us more in transaction fees, but is also considerably more time consuming for our volunteer administrators. We have also amended our dues structure for Junior membership to encourage early participation, and also to reflect the prime time use of courts by those Juniors with Full privileges.

2. Incentive to Pay in Full, by Cheque,
   by August 31, 2010

   We are a member owned club, run by member volunteers, and annual payments, by cheque, received by end of August, is our preferred method of payment, as this involves a minimum amount of ongoing administration. To encourage this option, we are therefore offering the following incentive again this year:

   If Annual Dues for 2010/11 are paid by cheque, and received in the “Membership Mail” slot by midnight, August 31, 2010, the Member's name will be entered into a draw with the winner receiving a $500 cash prize! Draw to be made by October 31, 2010. Incentive to apply to all categories except Junior and Inactive.

   Please Note: the 130 members who took advantage of our Early Bird HST program will be automatically entered into this draw!
3. Payment by Credit Card

   We do (reluctantly) accept credit card payments for both annual and monthly payments. Should you wish to pay by credit card, please complete an Electronic Payment Information Form in addition to a Membership Renewal form. We do NOT accept debit card payments.

4. Squash BC Membership Payments

   Membership in Squash BC is mandatory for all Singles and Doubles League participants, and all players (Juniors, Students and Adults) taking part in tournaments of any description.

   Adult annual dues on an individual basis have been increased from $36.75 (inc GST) to $45.92 (inc HST) for the period November 1, 2010 through October 31, 2011. The group rate is now $40.00 (inc HST). Group Student (17 to 25) rate is $ 22.40 (inc HST) while Group Junior rate is $ 16.80 (inc HST).

   If you wish to take advantage of the Group rate for Squash BC dues, we need to receive your Membership Renewal Form and Payment Instructions on or before September 21, 2010. After this date, you should pay Squash BC directly at the Individual rate.

   Please Note: members who have already paid their dues under the Early Bird program will still have to pay their Squash BC dues!
5. Waiver of Liability

   We now have Waivers of Liability on file for all existing members, so you do NOT need to fill out another one!
