2011 Membership Renewals

As you know, we operate on a September through August year for annual dues, and it's now time to renew your membership for the period September 1, 2011 through August 31, 2012.

Completed renewal forms and payment instructions should be received by August 31, 2011. Please drop all forms and payment instructions in the “Membership Mail” Slot in the wall of the stairs, or mail to Evergreen Squash Club, 1802 Glenaire Drive, North Vancouver, BC, V7P 1Y1.

There are several issues that we would like to bring to your attention:

1. Dues

   The club has not increased its dues in five years and due to rising costs of utilities, maintenance and funding for a part-time Club Manager, there is an increase this year. As in the past, we continue to charge more for monthly payments by credit card, as this payment method not only costs us more in transaction fees, but is also considerably more time consuming for our administrators.

2. Incentive to Pay in Full, by Cheque,
   by August 31, 2010

   We are a member owned club, currently run by member volunteers, and full payments, by cheque, received by end of August, is our preferred method of payment, as this involves a minimum amount of ongoing administration. To encourage this option, we are therefore offering a revised incentive this year:

   If Annual Dues for 2011/12 are paid by cheque in full, and received in the “Membership Mail” slot by midnight, August 31, 2011, the Member’s name will be entered into a draw for a chance to win one of ten $50 gift certificates to Earls Restaurant! Draw to be made by October 31, 2011. Incentive to apply to all categories except Junior and Inactive.

3. Payment by Credit Card

   We do (reluctantly) accept credit card payments for both annual and monthly payments. Should you wish to pay by credit card, please complete an Electronic Payment Information Form in addition to a Membership Renewal form. We do NOT accept credit cards other than Visa or Mastercard, and we do NOT accept debit card payments.

4. Squash BC

   The club has arranged terms with Squash BC that registers all Evergreen members as Squash BC members, a practice common with several other Lower Mainland squash clubs; please see www.squashbc.com for benefits, including injury insurance coverage.

5. Vancouver Squash League

   We are reinstating a fee to cover the cost of entering teams (singles and/or doubles) — if you intend to play league squash in 2011/12 either on a team, or as a spare, you need to pay the Vancouver Squash League Participation Fee.

6. Waiver of Liability

   We now have Waivers of Liability on file for all existing members, so you do NOT need to fill out another one!
