Membership Frequently Asked Questions

General

Are there couple or family memberships?

All current membership packages are individual. We do not, at this time, offer packages for couples or families.

Are there any programmes or activities for children?

Evergreen Squash Club has one of the longest running and most succesful junior squash programs in the province. Juniors from our programme participate at the provincial and national level.

The Evergreen Junior Tournament is one of the most successful junior tournaments in Western Canada, attracting nearly 200 of the best junior squash players from Western Canada and the northwest of the United States.

I am not sure if your club would welcome someone as inexperienced as I am.

Players of any level are welcome at Evergreen Squash Club. We have two professionals who can do wonders to improve your skill, fitness and competitiveness.

Are there drop in times available?

Yes, in season.

Every Friday, beginning at 6pm, there is a casual drop in for singles and doubles squash. You do not have to be a member to attend a couple of times in order to see what the club has to offer. The format has players going on court for a game, or 10 minutes or so, then rotating to give someone else a chance, and eventually going back on court. There are experienced players available to give newer players a hand.

For members (including Trial Members) there are also other programmes available; but, most require a little more than beginner's skills. These include box ladders, and in-house leagues.

How much do they (drop-ins) cost, if they are available?

Most regular activities at the club are without cost. Exceptions include lessons given by the pros, entry in a tournament, certain social functions, and the like.

If I do become a member, can one drop in any time to play or are there big waiting lists for daytimes?

We have 5 singles courts and one doubles court. There is an on-line booking system to reserve court times. You cannot reserve a court for practicing on your own; however, you may use any empty court at any time.

We have a low player to court ratio, so it is relatively easy to find a suitable time to play. Our busier times tend to be weekdays from about 4pm to 8pm or so, and weekend mornings and mid afternoon.
