Evergreen Squash Club — Fun Fast Fit

Extend your squash life!

An Evergreen Squash Club membership is one terrific value.

Been playing singles for a few years, and starting to feel a little slower, or not quite as youthful. Perhaps, not quite as fit as one once was. Then, I believe, doubles squash is what you are looking for.

Still fit enough to get on court, have good racquet skills, and able to anticipate your opponent's next shot, then you have what it takes to become a good doubles player. If you have always depended on your speed to compensate for your less than stellar skills, you should likely avoid the doubles court.

I think you will be pleasantly surprised at how much enjoyment you will get out of the game. Don't have a doubles court at your club? Join Evergreen, either as a full member (so you can keep playing singles), or as a "doubles only" member, and keep the membership at your current club.

Have questions or just want to get the ball rolling, use our on-line form.

Summer Junior Squash Camp
2009

The Junior Summer Camp is a 1 to 2 week, 4 hour–a–day, program loaded with squash and fun activities to develop and improve your squash skills. Cross-training and games to ensure you have tons of fun, and, also, develop skills suitable for other sports!

The coaches for the camp are our own Phil Arthur, and Alicia Haneine. Got questions — feel free to contact them.

The Junior Summer Camp flyer is available in PDF and Microsoft Word format.

Why

The basis to developing great skills is still "Practice, practice, practice." And, in the case of squash, good aerobic and anaerobic fitness are also essential.

A week long camp is an excellent way to push one's skill and fitness up a notch.

Who

The camp is open to all junior squash players — members and non–members. (Please see camp fees below.)

The camps have a minimum weekly requirement of 8 participants, and a maximum of 12 participants. So, don't be disappointed, register early.

When & Where

The camp will be held the weeks of August 10-14, and August 17-21, 2009. There will be 4 hours of activity each day, Monday through Friday, 11:00 AM until 3:00 PM.

All activities will take place at the Evergreen Squash Club, or the adjacent Klahanie Park.

You can attend for either or both weeks.

What

  • Court movement and squash specific training for efficiency, quickness and reaction
  • Drills to improve squash racquet skills: basic strokes and shots
  • Strategy and tactics development
  • Positive mental strength and critical thinking
  • Field games (soccer, Freeze bee, basketball, running, etc.)
  • Weight training
  • And — more squash

Beginners Junior Squash

For high energy children that want to have lots of fun on the squash court. The children will play a series of games designed to help them develop hand-eye coordination, agility, balance, flexibility, fitness and basic racquet skills.

Intermediate Junior Squash

Have fun while becoming more competitive squash players. In addition to a large emphasis on the development of proper stroke production and footwork, the children will receive training designed to improve their aerobic and anaerobic energy systems, to increase their mental strength, and to develop winning tactics.
