VDSL 2010–11 Season

Week of December 15th — Week 10

Two cycles done for Divisions 1 and 3. Division 2, one cycle done and 3 down in cycle two and 4 more to go. League is done for this year.

The Doc had a bye this week but Tim Martin battled second place Lawn in Division 1 activity. Kerluke and his boys are in the basement, 3 points behind Hollyburn. The kids maintained their winning ways with a 3-1 win over Dodds and Goldsmith while The Chef and Pork Chops were blanked by Marvelous Marvin and Mike Leckie. The Lawn closed the gap to 8 points behind league leading Tim Martin with that 6-3 night.

The Muckers in Division 2 couldn’t put 3 eights in row but still managed some points against Geoff Williams’ team who are in second place. Eddie the Eagle and Bromide stunned Captain Williams and The Pirate (John King) with a 3-1 win. Boyd Muir and Wild Willy managed to grab a game off Diana Hardie and Jeff Harnum but unfortunately the Muckers fell short on points and settled for a 4-6 night. The Fishin’ Boys could do themselves and the Muckers a favour by beating up on Bill James at Hollyburn. Well we know the story now. Rob The Tree Trunk Forrest and Miller Time beat Joe Lopes and Bill James 3-1. Who made that decision to play our #1 against their #2? The speedy new guy, Peter Lonergan and Richard Martin grabbed one game off the ever improving Chris Davies and Dave Canning. The point split went to Hollyburn and the 6-4 night pushed Bill James’ crew one point passed The Muckers.

The SPC vs Sweet Sue match is being postponed until January, so be careful when looking at the results in Division 2 as they will have a match in hand compared to all the other Division 2 teams.

Also at Evergreen another VRC team got the upper hand in Division 3. The Tool and Mike the Hammer did their part with a 3-2 win over Captain Maunder and Mike Young. Iain Savill and Derek Andrew managed a single game against Ed McCorkell and Chris Galer. The 5-7 night put a little more distance between Tooley and Maunder in Division 3 standings.
